Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a individual who leaped a barricade and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating video shows the individual from Australia shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by event staff.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records revealed that he was due to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was charged.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a performance. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user questioned.
Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote another response on Instagram.
Some supporters also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some called for digital services to block Mr Wen's uploads.
In clips circulating online, Grande seemed surprised when she was touched by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.
Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.
Many of fans had congregated in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.
The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the second of a two-part adaptation of the popular stage production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two very different characters.
The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen Academy Award nods, winning a pair for best costume and set decoration.
