More than 2,000 Victimized Children and Unaccompanied Minor Asylum Seekers Lost from UK Councils’ Protection

The analysis indicates there is a “continuing and significant failure” in protection and appeals to municipal councils and law enforcement to make certain following of good practice.

The authors also urge the Department for Education to ensure all exploited and lone minors can obtain appropriate accommodation that shields them from being re-victimized.

Housing Issues

Beginning from September 2021, government bodies have been mandated to ensure that all children in care under sixteen are placed in settings that give protection.

However, youths in their late teens can still be placed in so-called “supported accommodation” that does not give regular oversight.
