Defiant Celtic's manager does not fear the sack yet the Parkhead faithful unleash fury following defeat.

Wilfried Nancy declared he had no concerns about the sack, asserting, “I believe we are really close to changing our fortunes,” despite edging perilously close to the exit with a convincing loss to Rangers.

A Second-Half Collapse Leads to Old Firm Disaster

Celtic were in front their oldest rivals at the break but a second-half capitulation allowed Danny Röhl’s team to draw level on points with the reigning league title holders. The French coach, who was appointed from the MLS, has now presided over six defeats in his last eight fixtures.

Protest Erupts

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

Nancy remains focused on the fact Celtic can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. In fact, but for poor finishing they would have been better than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit aside from the fact that we didn't take more goals,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I must remain balanced.

“The level we had at times was exceptionally high. This is the reality. And I would not talk like that if it was not the case. Therefore, regarding outcomes, I noted this is the same story. That’s why I feel we are really close to things turning around. Right now: details, details, details.”

“There were plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. However comes down to performing for 90 minutes. My narrative would change the same. That’s why I firmly believe we’re going to be able to turn things around.”

Opposition Reaction Stance

The victorious boss refused to contemplate a serious challenge in spite of what appeared to be a statement victory. “We take it game by game, and we can really build up a challenge,” he said. “The belief in the team is outstanding.”
